CoWork Tenant Profile:
“Down-to-earth design for purpose-driven people
If you are like many people in Hamilton, hearing the name Kitestring might evoke a smile, along with a warm and fuzzy feeling. The Kitestring brand has been synonymous with Hamilton’s homegrown creative community and has a reputation for building successful campaigns and brands for many purpose-driven, socially-conscious businesses that are a part of the cultural fabric of Hamilton.
When founding partner Chris Farias decided to pursue a new venture, partners Jenn Hudder (founding) and Brandon St. Amand continued on. In 2020, with growing families and a readiness for change, they turned to employees Marin Hudson and Mike Ecclestone to lead Kitestring into its next chapter.
Already familiar with the Kitestring portfolio and working with many of the company’s clients, taking on the role of Business Partners was an exciting opportunity for both of them. With Marin taking on the role of Creative Director and Mike leading Client Services, they were eager to continue the amazing work Kitestring was known for and further connect with the Hamilton community.
Taking over just days before the COVID-19 pandemic began to shut the world down, Marin explained, “Our priority was to support our clients through the process instead of putting our own business first.”
The pandemic allowed Kitestring to build strong connections with new clients while taking the time to rethink their identity and build a brand that represented their hopes for the future.
“We want to be approachable, relatable, and fun while supporting our clients with a collaborative approach”, said Marin. “Most of the people we work with wear many hats. We want to be a company that fits into our clients’ existing process while adding strategic and creative support.”
Mike added, “Our goal is to create a dynamic relationship, working alongside our clients in order to ease the pressure of marketing, design, and digital work.”
In September 2021, Kitestring quietly relaunched its new brand. Their new tagline “your partners in creativity” is the perfect way to convey the collaborative approach they take when working with clients.
“Each new client is unique and we are customizing the conversation to each organization’s needs while we get creative together to reach their goals,” said Mike.
As this dynamic duo moves toward growing their business, they prioritize taking the much-needed time out of their day to rethink their processes in order to make deliverables more impactful. Both partners intend to continue Kitestring as a small agency, supporting purpose-driven businesses and organizations in Hamilton and the surrounding area.
“We are eager to grow our team, however, we want to provide a more intimate experience for our clients. We want to ensure they know everyone working on their project,” said Marin.
“It’s been an exciting and challenging time of growth for our business, but we are now ready to share Kitestring with the world,” said Marin.
