We won’t go on and on about the pandemic, its closures, and restrictions, because by now you probably have heard all you wish to hear. We get it!  We thought we would share how we are taking precautions to keep you safe when coworking with us.

SAFETY IS KEY

We have used some intuitive common sense bundled with safety techniques, sanitizers, regular deep cleans and a love for our community to keep everyone as safe as we can.  Here is how we are doing it.

  1.  Not new by all means, however a place to begin. We ask all of our members and their visitors to wear a mask when in common areas when walking around. Our members and their guests are welcome to remove masks when seated at a desk, in a private office or meeting room. This allows for normalcy and comfort when getting down to business.
  2. Prevention is better than cure, which is why ask everyone upon entry to hand sanitize, and sign in (and out). We do this so we have a reference if someone tests positive.  We will call and email those who might be impacted recommending they get tested.  We have access to free rapid tests if required.  There is a digital thermometer located next to the sign-in sheet, and although we do not require a temperature check, it is there should anyone feel warm or under the weather throughout the day.  We ask our members to self-regulate.
  3. Members and visitors are asked to stay home if they are feeling under the weather. Coughing, sneezing and a runny nose are all considered feeling under the weather. If you have hayfever or an allergy that is causing those symptoms, we ask that you let staff and your neighbours know as a common courtesy.
  4. We keep a number of sanitization wipes and sprays in CoWork. Members are asked to use one of the wipes after working in shared desk space, telephone booths and meeting rooms. We do have cleaning staff who come around every morning to wipe down surfaces, wash high-touch areas. Our cleaners and staff take care of garbage, floors, and vacuuming, and ensure the kitchen is cleaned regularly throughout the day.
  5. Members and guests are asked to place all dirty dishes in the dishwasher (not in the sink). We wash shared cups/dishes at high temperatures which helps to kill germs. Unfortunately, hand washing dishes is not as effective. We understand at times, the dishwasher may be in the midst of a cycle. We ask our members to hand wash their dishes and then keep them to the side of the counter for the next run through the dishwasher. This practice also slows the spread of germs.
  6. We have done our best to ensure there is a distance between desks in the coworking space, chairs in both the teams’ room and meeting rooms are spaced 6 feet apart. We have screens available to use for anyone who might drop in for a day and want some extra privacy when using a shared desk.
  7. We ask that our members and their guests be vaccinated. It isn’t a 100 % full-proof cure to covid. But still, it’s better than not being vaccinated at all. Vaccination creates a barrier to the disease, and symptoms are mild after you’re vaccinated. Although vaccination passports are no longer mandated it does help to know all of our staff and members are fully vaccinated.

Just a few more notes which may help you enjoy your time visiting us in CoWork.

We have 20 ft ceilings in our 7,000 square foot coworking space. Our space has tons of natural light and windows which open to the outside world. In the warmer months, we have a great air conditioning system that continues to keep the space feeling light fresh and airy.

The world still hasn’t figured out how to extract Covid from existence. It has been a tough couple of years, and not something we have ever experienced before in our lifetimes. Lockdowns are tough on everyone and we hope that through practicing some of the recommendations listed above, we can keep our community strong and keep our doors open to serve you.

Feel free to drop us a line if you have more questions about CoWork. We are always happy to hear from you.
