Corinne has exhibited extensively in Canada, the United States, South Korea, and Europe. Among Duchesne’s many awards, she is also a recipient of the Ontario Arts Council, Mid Career Artist Grant.
Duchesne graduated from the Ontario College of Art and Design, studied during her final year, at the Off-Campus Program in Florence Italy, with Tom Lapierre.

A Grief Series
Are a selection of large-scale paintings on Mylar which bring together drawing, painting, assemblage and collage.
“In the act of physically cutting up my paintings, I reclaim and recycle bits and pieces, which I then use to rebuild narrative and consider the interpretation of memory.”
“I started these paintings after the death of someone I loved dearly. I began to think that all the paintings that I created where about that loss, seeking to honour the memory by helping me remember every detail, but then slowly, I began to realise that the paintings were about all the losses, mine, yours and those of strangers. Greif is ubiquitous and inescapable, we all feel it, fear it, and carry it with us, in our own ways.” — Corinne Duchesne
