Meet Monica Brinkman—artist, entrepreneur, kickboxing instructor, and one of the newest members of CoWork. Her story weaves together resilience, creativity, and purpose.
Monica co-runs Brink Unlimited SEO, a family-run digital marketing agency she founded with her two brothers. With over 50 clients, ranging from local businesses to national luxury furniture brands, Monica manages SEO, advertising, and web design with precision and passion. Though she has a background in corporate accounting and two degrees—including fine arts—she’s chosen to channel her creative side through both business and painting.
Her real passion? Feminist Art by Monica (feministart.ca)—a project born from her own journey of survival and healing. After enduring an abusive relationship and years of caregiving for her parents through serious health struggles, Monica turned to painting. “Art became medicine,” she says.
Her acrylic works, often faceless female figures in meditative or yoga poses, explore themes of collective trauma, inner strength, and resilience. “They’re not about identity,” Monica explains. “They’re about what unites us—our capacity to heal together.”
She recently returned to the art world with her first exhibit since art school, featured in the Women’s Art Association of Hamilton show at The Cotton Factory.
Monica joined CoWork after six years of working from home through COVID and caregiving. “I needed to get out. I toured Studio 305 and saw the mountains through the window. It’s a women-only space filled with energy. I finally felt like myself again.”
Whether she’s mentoring other creatives, attending digital seminars, or dreaming up her next body of work, Monica’s path is clear: to help women not just survive—but thrive.
She’s now planning yoga teacher training in the Caribbean and dreams of one day opening a women’s shelter focused on healing through movement, community, and art.
“CoWork changed everything. It’s the opposite of my old cubicle—open, bright, alive. It’s my favourite place in the world”.
