From Past to the Future showcases the artwork of Turkish artist Derya Kolcu.

Derya Kolcu was born in Türkiye (Turkey) and obtained her B.Sc. and M.A. Business Commerce degrees from Istanbul University, followed by her CPA designation in Türkiye and Canada.
As an artist, she attended several silk fabric and porcelain painting programs at well-known and influential Turkish handcraft and art institutions. She has participated in a series of exhibitions in Turkey and Canada since 1993.
Derya’s work is inspired by traditional Turkish motifs and Iznik designs in Anatolia from the 15th to 17th century. She paints on hand-woven silk from the Birgi/Odemis region of Türkiye, recently awarded and listed by the UNESCO affiliate – World Heritage Committee as a natural and cultural asset.
In June 2023, she was honoured to participate in the “Past to Future” 100th Anniversary Exhibition held in the thousand-year-old Dervish Agha Medrese in Birgi.
We hope you will see her work on view in the CoWork Gallery – Studio 301 – 270 Sherman Ave. North. Hamilton
