The Cotton Factory invites artists to submit their work for consideration in our upcoming curated exhibition, themed “I Hear Music.” This exhibition aims to explore the intersection of visual art and the auditory world, capturing the essence of music through the lens of various mediums. We are particularly interested in paintings, mixed media, and large format works that evoke the harmonies, rhythms, and emotions inspired by music.

Important Dates:
Submission Deadline: March 15, 2024
Selection Notification: on or before April 15, 2024
Art Drop Off: April 29, 2024
Installation: May 1, 2024
Artist Reception: Friday, May 10, 2024 during the Cotton Factory’s indoor gallery crawl

Exhibition Open for Viewing: May 4 and May 5, 2024 (During Doors Open Hamilton)

Submission Guidelines:
– Original artworks created based on the theme, “I Hear Music”
– Preference is for artworks up to 36 x 48 inches (maximum size canvas).
– Eligible mediums: Painting, Mixed Media, Large Format Works, Textiles, Photography
– All Eligible Artworks must be delivered to the Cotton Factory ready for hanging using proper D hooks and wire. Artworks not properly prepared will not be hung in the exhibition. Please feel free to reach out with any questions.

How to Submit:
Please send expression of interest and 150 dpi thumbnail (png or jpg) of your artwork to annette@coworkfactory.ca by the submission deadline.

Include a letter explaining the relevance of the artwork to the theme ” I Hear Music”, include a brief artist statement and description of the works you would like to show. (up to 3 images)
